Phyllis/ Sakina Hackett is a lifelong resident of the Riverside neighborhood where her work in various capacities of public and private enterprise has impacted the city of Indianapolis, as well as impacting national and international levels. Some of her contributions include elected several terms as president of Riverside Civic League, the second oldest neighborhood organization in the city; diversity scholar for the National Historic Preservation Trust; and other community engagement and development services.
